BENO Launches New Educational Program
Developing & Enhancing Proficiencies for Ethics Consultation
The Board of Trustees has authorized this innovative year-long course of study based on a needs assessment and member survey. The program will involve approximately 80 hours of study using a variety of learning strategies including: readings, group discussion, written papers, case analyses, lectures, small group projects, and personal reflection.
What Are the Course Goals?
After completing all course components participants will be able to:
1. Describe the role, purpose, and practical components of ethics case consultation as an integral function of a health care ethics committee.
2. Explain knowledge, skills, and character traits needed for proficiency
in functioning as an ethics consultant.
3. Demonstrate preparedness for an increased leadership role in defining, clarifying, and actualizing the mission and function of a health care ethics committee.
What Must I Do to Reserve My Place?
To guarantee an optimal learning experience, the class will be limited to first 15 persons to register. You may want more detailed information about the structure, content and requirements of the program before making a final decision.
